Gertrude Giles
Bob's Mom IS going to have surgery to remove (at least partially) a large mass. The surgery is next Monday in Tupelo, Miss. Bob has to travel to th UK on Saturday for very important work related meetings. Please pray for his mom, the entire family, Bob's rest and trust of his mom in God's hands, and for as little pain as possible for his Mom. Pray too for Jansen as she ministers to the family.

Bob's mother is out of surgery and in ICU. The tumor was all removed successfully and there was no sign of the cancer having spread. Her vital signs are good, but they are having trouble getting her off the respirator. The doctor says this is not surprising given her age (93) and her history of respiratory problems. Pray that they can remove her breathing tube soon as she is quite agitated at not being able to talk!!She's in for quite a long haul in the healing process so please keep her in your prayers.

The breathing tube is out. They are keeping her in ICU tonite, but if all is well she will go to a private room tomorrow. Amazing; huh? Thanks for your prayers. They are working.
Wanted to let you all know the latest on Bob's mom. We were planning to go to Mississippi tomorrow, but after talking to Bob's sister last nite we have decided not to go right now. All of her vitals are good, but she is very combative and angry (possibly because of the medication or anesthesia). She cannot (or will not) eat and continues to lose weight. Of course she is very weak, and doesn't want to have visitors right now. So we will try to go see her before Christmas, Lord willing.Please keep her in your prayers, and also remember Bob's sister. She is staying at the hospital except to sleep, and it is pretty stressful due to Gertrude's mental state.
Another request regarding Bob's family. His brother's wife is an alcoholic and has entered rehab in Tennessee. Her name is Donna and his brother's name is Rex. The timing of her admission is really good because she adds a lot of stress to everyone who is around her. This is something that should have happened a long time ago. Pray it is not too late. They are both believers.
